How sweet it is to be loved by you …
So I fully admit that Marvin Gaye’s 1964 hit How Sweet It is (To Be Loved by You) was before my time. Even James Taylor’s cover (which might be more popular than even Marvin’s version of the song) was released a decade before I was born. Therefore my experience with the song largely stems from its appearance in romantic movies and tv commercials. Be that as it may a few lines of the hit song seem very fitting.
I just wanna stop and thank ya … How sweet it is to be loved by you …
Kayla and I are so blessed to be loved by, and cared for, by so many people. We have had people stop us in hallways and ask to pray over us, which is awesome! We sold over 70 t-shirts, which not only helps fund us but also reminds the wearers (and those who see the shirts) to pray for us! As of right now we have sold over 200 lbs of pulled pork for our BBQ fundraiser (more on that in a second). So many people have given to help make this possible and many times simply saying “thank you” seems so inadequate but really we cannot say it enough!
According to my analytics this little ole blog has been visited by people in 4 different countries, 30 of the 50 United States, and 136 different cities inside the US. That is pretty awesome in my opinion!
As Kayla mentioned in her blog post last week we begin our home study process today! Today we meet with a woman named Carrie from Bethany Christian Services and we will have about an hour long meeting to cover a lot of information and get our first home study packet. We are beyond excited about this next step and would absolutely appreciate your prayers of support as this next step begins. We are not considered a “waiting family” until our home study is complete so getting this step started is an important one! The cost to begin the home study process is $500 and I can very happily report that we have already raised that cost (and much more) thanks to you all!
Before I wrap this post up I just wanted to let you know that our t-shirts have arrived! I would again like to thank Brent and Suzy Beaird (Screen Graphics) for the amazing job they did! If you ordered a shirt and need to pick it up please contact Kayla or me and we will arrange that. The first time you wear it take a selfie and be sure to hashtag #4thischild so we can see! Here is mine!
Also, our BBQ fundraiser has been a great success already! We have sold over 200 lbs and will continue to take orders until tomorrow night so if you’ve put off getting the best pulled pork, now is the time to put in your order! It comes vacuum packed, which means that in addition to being able to enjoy it right away it is perfect to freeze for a later date!
Thanks again for all of your support … It sure is sweet to be love by you!
