One step closer

Our application was approved today!! Yay! We are so excited.

So now what… We go to another meeting next Monday (11/17) to begin to go through all the paperwork for our homestudy. This part includes physicals, background checks, fingerprinting, interviews, a home inspection, and more. We are a complete mixture of nerves and excitement.

Right now we have two main needs…

1. Please continue to pray for us. We want to be obedient to God’s direction and His timing because we know it is absolutely perfect. Please continue to encourage us as right now the pace seems overwhelming. In 18 days we have submitted our formal application (and been approved!!) and launched 2 very successful fundraisers (more on that in a second). The next month or so will continue at this pace as we complete the homestudy, but then the waiting will begin. Please remind us on those days that seem too fast that the work is worth it, and please remind us on the days that seem to drag that His timing is perfect and He is able.

2. We have been blown away at the number of people who bought the 77 tshirts. We placed that order today! We are still selling BBQ and will continue until noon on Wednesday 11/19. If you are interested we can hook you up and would be so grateful. We have had several people just make a donation. We cannot express to you our appreciation for all the support. Within the next weeks we will be launching into our second round of fundraising (initials parties online and Christmas gift wrapping). Our hope is that these coupled with the BBQ, shirts, and other donations will push us over the $5,000 cost of the homestudy. The completion of the homestudy and the payment of that $5,000 is what makes us a waiting family and eligible to be chosen for adoption.

We are thankful we serve a God with whom all things are possible. Don’t underestimate the impact you are having on bringing our baby home.
